As a language teacher in ICAN, "input" and "output," are only two of the concepts I need to be aware of in order to make sure our students are getting the most out of their studies. They must be taken into account in order to effectively support second language development.

Input refers to the language that learners receive through listening or reading. In short, input and output are important in learning English because they work together to support the language acquisition process. "Input" provides learners with the language models they need to understand and produce the target language, while "output" allows learners to practice and refine their language skills.
